I writing a story lah, about why sometimes got ghosts hanging around in hotel room one. You know hotel room got that kind of weird feeling sometimes—like something not quite right. So many people stay before, some happy, some heartbroken, some maybe even die inside without anyone knowing. Got all kinds of energy left behind, like memories that cannot move on. Some ghosts maybe still waiting for someone, some kena curse, some just damn buay song ’cos they die suddenly. This story I write is to share all the spooky reasons why a hotel room might not be as empty as you think, lor.

Here are seven eerie and story-worthy reasons why ghosts might linger in a hotel room:

1. Unfinished Business

A guest may have died suddenly—accident, illness, or worse—before completing an important task. Their spirit remains behind, tethered to the room where their final chapter was abruptly cut short.

2. Tragic Love Stories

Hotels are places of fleeting romances and secret meetings. Some ghosts are said to be lovers who made a pact, but one broke it—or died before it could be fulfilled. Now, one spirit waits, hoping the other will return.

3. Hidden Crimes

A murder covered up. A body never found. Hotels often have long histories, and sometimes, a room was once the scene of a crime buried beneath layers of paint, wallpaper, and silence. The spirit of the victim lingers, wanting justice—or revenge.

4. Energy Imprint

Not all hauntings are spirits. Some are emotional echoes—fear, grief, passion—that replay over and over like a broken record. Hotels see thousands of people, and certain rooms absorb powerful emotional energy, creating ghost-like phenomena. In other words ah, no spirits but only the negative energies that are left over by people who are negative (eg. Sad, angry, wanna kill ccfong, etc.)

5. Cursed Objects or Architecture

Perhaps a mirror never reflects right. A painting always feels like it’s watching. Some rooms were built over sacred or cursed ground—or contain objects tied to spirits who won’t let go. In other words, 精 … not spirit… or some more other words, objects that are lousy fengshui ornaments.

6. Suicides and Solitude

Hotels are transient places, where lonely souls sometimes meet their end in secret. A guest who took their own life may remain trapped in the space where despair consumed them. In other words, merry go round… die already still carry on wanna die inside.

7. Rituals Gone Wrong

Sometimes, guests or even staff dabble in things they don’t understand—seances, spirit boards, summoning games. A door gets opened, but no one remembers to close it.

Next question is what happens if ccfong enters into one of these rooms to stay?
